CBS News featured our very own, Mental Health Urgent Care clinic in a story this last week!
The focus was on the rise of those seeking mental health support having to wait for appointments. MHUCC is designed to fill that gap.
From the story: “The goal is when they leave they feel better,” said Iffat Raufi, program director for Sacramento County’s Mental Health Urgent Care. “We are actually created to provide an alternative therapeutic environment for individuals averting their mental health crisis so they do not end up in the emergency dept, psych hospitalization, or incarceration.”
