Jorge Iniguez: Know Your Rights: Tenant Protections
Jorge is a Staff Attorney from Legal Services of Northern California. Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC for short) is a nonprofit organization that provides free civil legal assistance to low-income people and other vulnerable populations in 23 Northern California counties. Jorge graduated from UC Irvine, School of Law in 2023 with a Pro Bono High Honors award. He is a Sacramento native and enjoys backpacking, Formula 1 racing, chess, and more recently running and sewing. His presentation today will focus on common housing issues and landlord-tenant disputes.
Alexis Bernard
Alexis Bernard, who holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Development, began her career with TPCP in 2000. She quickly rose to Program Director of the Homeless Intervention Program (HIP) in 2003, where she supported vulnerable populations. In 2007, she also assumed responsibility for the Pathways to Success after Homelessness program (Pathways), overseeing both HIP and Pathways until HIP’s funding ended in 2009 due to State budget cuts. In 2017, Alexis became Housing Director, supporting all TPCP programs with a housing component. Her leadership led to a promotion in 2019 to Regional Director, where she launched new programs and built key partnerships in San Joaquin County. Her region also included Sacramento County and the Pathways program. In 2023, she was named Chief Development Officer, where she continues to drive innovation. Looking ahead, Alexis is focused on expanding housing solutions, fostering strategic partnerships, and ensuring TPCP’s long-term sustainability.
